State of tech sales hiring

This week in tech sales hiring, in plain English: open roles, who's hiring, pay and remote share. Regenerated every 3 hours from live postings. Week of Oct 26, 2026.

Week of Oct 26, 2026 – Nov 1, 2026 · updated Oct 28, 2026 2:06 PM ET

OTE Jobs is tracking 13,083 open sales roles at 1520 tech companies, 7,591 of them in the US. In the last 7 days employers posted 1,243 of the roles that are still open (775 in the US).

The busiest hirers right now are T-Mobile, Fiserv and ServiceNow, by roles posted in the last 30 days. Other leads industries for new sales roles, and New York has the most open roles of any US metro.

Pay: the median posted range midpoint is $150k for core AE roles (n=1571), $216k for senior and enterprise AEs (n=1303), $84k for SDRs and BDRs (n=428) and $188k for sales engineers (n=1011).

Remote work: 42% of US sales roles are remote and 21% hybrid. The typical US opening was posted 48 days ago.

Churn: since Oct 21, 2026, 1,598 sales roles appeared on the career boards we track and 587 were taken down.

Versus Oct 18, 2026, at the 1,466 companies we tracked then: open roles went from 11,702 to 11,753 (+0.4%). We also started tracking 108 more companies since then; their roles count as a new baseline, not as growth.

How we count

Source: OTE Jobs' own index of public job postings on the Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby career boards of 1520 tech companies, refreshed every 3 hours. This is the market we track, not every sales job in the US. Pay = midpoint of the posted range in USD/yr for US roles; some postings state base, others OTE, so the OTE-labelled median is shown separately. "Posted" uses the employer's own post date; roles with no post date aren't counted as new. Groups with fewer than 10 postings are hidden. Trends compare against daily snapshots we started keeping on Oct 18, 2026, and only show once there are 7+ days of history. Updated Oct 28, 2026 2:06 PM ET.
